It is hard to believe that this is my last official letter as the president of the LSRT. I had mentioned in a previous letter that one of the things I learned about holding this position was the lack of time to get all of my goals accomplished. The most eye-opening part of this job, however, was the realization that it is okay to not get everything accomplished. And the reason that it is okay? Because this society is filled with more-than-capable members who will pick up the torch and keep carrying it forward.

From the welcomed advice of my predecessors to the encouragement of upcoming officers, I am confident that the LSRT will continue to be an important advocate for all of the radiologic technologists in Louisiana. Equally, important-perhaps more important is the interaction that I have been able to have with the members of the LSRT during my tenure as president. Listening to members at the conferences, or on the phone, or through email, it has been made abundantly clear to me that this organization is much more than any person; this is a society of radiologic technologists who want to improve their profession. I am thankful that I have been able to play a role in that improvement throughout the past year.
